Reducing Landfill

With the help of custom storage units and dedicated trucks, we don’t just eliminate packaging & tins that would normally go into landfill, but also the residual oil left in the packaging. Contrary to the traditional ways of storing cooking oils, our innovative oil management solutions ensure that 300 less tins end up in the landfill per truck of cooking oil delivered.

Recycling Used Cooking Oil

Cookers mission is to help reduce Green House Gases and lower carbon emission by recycling used cooking oil. After collection, your used cooking oil will be dewatered through a certified line of process in the Cookers depot and sent out for recycling from where it can be reused in other industries like Biodiesel, Animal Feedstock and Bio-degradable Packaging.

Onsite Sustainability

We are proud to have Melbourne’s tallest Wind turbine, standing at 25 metres high at our head office in Derrimut which supplies around 30% of the site power consumption and aids our responsibility in reducing Green House Gas (GHG) emissions.

Along with that, all Cookers sites partake in rainwater harvesting, reusing the collected rain water to wash our trucks externally and incorporate LED lighting to reduce electricity usage.

Measure and Analyse

Being the first cooking oil supplier to be ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certified in Australia, we measure and analyse our Green House Gas (GHG) emissions regularly. Tracking our GHG emissions closely not only helps us analyse our business’ impact on the environment but also helps us tweak our operations to be more environmentally conscious and sustainable.
